How does it work?
During hypnosis, the body and conscious mind are in a relaxed, natural state, while the subconscious mind remains awake and receptive to suggestion. Hypnotic suggestions bypass the conscious mind and speak directly to the subconscious mind. When given a new suggestion that is within the bounds of a person's belief system and moral orientation, the subconscious mind accepts it literally as a new reality. The ability to re-program emotional attitudes and reactions is a latent talent within every human being. Hypnosis is the most functional and reasonable way to build new behaviours, create new patterns and find alternate ways of dealing with situations, thereby enforcing positive changed and restoring well-being of mind and body.
Hypnotherapy is a safe, proven and effective tool for directly accessing the power of your subconscious mind. It is within our subconscious mind that we store our emotions, memories, habit patterns and our most deeply held beliefs about ourselves and what we believe is possible for us to achieve. It is these deeply held patterns and beliefs that shape our lives and drive our decisions and perceptions.....
In a typical session, I will begin by having a brief chat with you about the processes involved in hypnotherapy so that you are fully aware of every aspect of the experience to come. Once a goal is established, I’ll take you through different guided relaxation and visualization exercises to allow the conscious mind to feel at ease and become aligned with the goal. Once the optimum state of relaxation is reached, I’ll allow your subconscious mind to begin the communication and guide the conversation towards your desired outcome in the language it can understand – images and metaphors.
Our minds work on two levels – the conscious and the unconscious. We make decisions, think and act with our conscious mind. The unconscious mind controls our habits. In this relaxed altered state known as Trance we can communicate directly with the unconscious mind. Your Clinical Hypnotherapist utilises the power of positive suggestion to bring about subconscious change to our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Our most deeply held beliefs about ourselves and what we believe we are capable of, is stored within the subconscious mind. It is these deeply held patterns and beliefs that drive our decisions and shape our lives. It is these subconscious beliefs and patterns that we must change when we desire to make a lasting, positive change in our lives.
