What should I expect?
Many people wonder what hypnosis is all about, including how they will feel during or after a hypnotherapy session.
Before you start, I will ask questions on your goals and past history. This helps me to understand your personality and needs to decide on the best method to use during your session.
How does it work?
Hypnotherapy is a safe, proven and effective tool for directly accessing the power of your subconscious mind. It is within our subconscious mind that we store our emotions, memories, habit patterns and our most deeply held beliefs about ourselves and what we believe is possible for us to achieve. It is these deeply held patterns and beliefs that shape our lives and drive our decisions and perceptions.....
Can anyone be hypnotized?
People with certain mental health conditions and brain damage are not good candidates for hypnotherapy. Children younger than 8 years of age are unlikely to benefit from hypnotherapy. Apart from that, if a client comes willingly to hypnotherapy with a genuine desire to be assisted, they are likely to be able to be hypnotised and will benefit from hypnotherapy.
I’ve heard that hypnosis doesn’t work on strong willed people.
If you have come to hypnotherapy of your own volition because you seek help or change, then it’s very likely to be successful. If you’re here because somebody else has talked you into it, it’s unlikely to be successful. We’ll both know pretty quickly if hypnotherapy is not right for you.
How long does each session take?
Our first consultation is usually 1.5 hours as I need to get as much information from you as I can in order to provide the change and improvement you are seeking. Subsequent consultations average an hour.
Is it right for me?
The most fundamental changes in life occur when you identify and modify a limiting thought or belief. If you look deeply and clearly at the root of a personal problem, you will nearly always find a limiting belief. For example, people will often put up with second best in career or relationships because at a deep subconscious level, they believe that’s all they deserve. While deeply relaxed and focusing on a particular issue, a client may more easily find a lateral solution or a new insight to an old and persistent problem. Hypnosis can provide a quick and cost-effective way to resolve issues and get on with living a full, abundant and harmonious life.
How many sessions will I need?
That question is a bit like “how long is a piece of string?” Many clients feel that one or two sessions is all that’s required for clarity, improvement and getting their life back on track. Some issues take more sessions to overcome barriers or introduce permanent change. As your hypnotherapist, I pledge to not over-service any clients and if one or two sessions works for you, I’ll be delighted about that. On average, most clients attend 3-4 sessions but it really depends on you and your subconscious mind.
What if I am unable to go deeply into hypnosis?
A deep experience of hypnosis is not necessary for it to be effective. Even a light state of trance can be very useful. Over time, with each session, you will become more familiar with this deeply relaxed state of being, and you will be able to go deeper in this very enjoyable and pleasant experience.
Is Hypnotherapy Safe?
Yes, this treatment is completely safe. Hypnotherapy works with your will; it only works on people who want to change and you can’t be made to do anything against your will.
Still unsure?
Over the past few decades, thousands of medical and psychological research articles have proven the effectiveness of hypnosis in dealing with a wide variety of issues. Hypnosis is well respected by medical doctors, psychiatrists, dentists, psychotherapists and psychologists. Many of these professions use forms of hypnosis in their treatments. Surgeons have even used hypnosis as the sole form of anaesthesia during deep abdominal surgery such as caesarean sections. Most people can significantly improve their lives with hypnosis.
